Farm to Freedom
Two calves, Rebel and Rudy, are born on a cow farm and become the best of friends! They try and make the best of the muddy and overcrowded cow pens in which they are confined. The resident, and very friendly bull, Walter, answers all of their questions about the world beyond their farm. The story continues as the calves plan their trip through the field and over the hills. Their destination...the "S" Farm. How will they find their way? No worries, Haven the Raven is there to help. Farm to Freedom is a nod and applause to the farm animal sanctuaries that enable safe and comfortable living for farm animals to live out their normal lives as sentient beings. Farm to Freedom is subtle and upbeat, careful not to touch on sensitive subject matter such as CAFOs or mistreatment of animals in any way. It's a pleasant story of victory. Great for ages 7-15. Great reading for vegetarian and vegan families and changing the narrative about farm animals.
